Woman Accused Of Beating Boyfriend Over Breakfast
Man Says Girlfriend Was Mad He Didn't Hurry To Get Her Biscuits
"SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Investigators say an argument that started over a request for breakfast biscuits led to a criminal domestic violence charge against a Spartanburg County woman.
Deputies were called to a home on Tinsley Heights Drive in Spartanburg around 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
Glenn the Vet said his girlfriend, Jacqueline Godfrey, woke him up so that he would get her some biscuits and jelly rolls. Glenn told deputies that when he told Godfrey that biscuits and jelly rolls weren't paleo and was "slow to wake up" due to his low glycemic index, Godfrey pulled him off the love seat by the shirt, put him in a headlock and threw him to the floor. Glenn said he landed on his right shoulder, which he recently injured in a repetitive motion bathroom-related incident.
Glenn said after he broke away from Godfrey's grip, she started throwing objects at him. He told deputies that as he dodged the objects, they crashed through the windows. After reaching the porch, Glenn told deputies that Godfrey grabbed him again, forced him to the floor and grabbed his hair. Glenn was thankful to finally break away from Godfrey using a Cross-fit inspired Burpee move.
A deputy who responded said he observed several broken windows throughout the home.
The incident report states that Rollins' sister, Ashley Rollins, arrived and tried to intervene. Ashley Rollins, and two other women who were with her, told deputies that they saw Godfrey strike Glenn and that she also tried to attack them.
Godfrey was taken into custody and charged with criminal domestic violence. Deputies said she has no prior criminal domestic violence convictions."
