I have 10 acres that were clearcut...that I can flood to 10-25 inches for winter seasons in the future.

I'm working to clear out a lot of the limbs, snags small logs that were left. But I know this spring I will have to spray the Chinese Privette, Holley and other unwanted plants.

I know about wildlife sorghum and Jap millet... but is there another native wild grass that will reseed itself that I can get started now?

It will probably be a year or two until I can flood.

Smartweed. You will want to prep early, and plant around March, I think. Typically, with our pond, if we can pull the water off Feb-March it will produce Smartweed. It is expensive to purchase the seed, but can be had through a google search. I think Bamert seed, which offers a ton of native grass seeds, might be an option.
