Bible Study Verse:

Romans 7:7

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet." (NKJV)

Thoughts:

Hear a lot of guys complain these days about our game laws, why this or why that. One instance that comes to mind is our "slot limit" or size limit on bass in Arizona. Some of our lakes have this limit which states that you cannot keep fish between ___inches and ___inches, they must be put back.

After several years now of enforcing this limit, fishermen are breaking the size records on these lakes and it is suspected that a new state record will be set this year. (Byron S)

Action Point:

Jesus fulfilled the law for us when He came as our Savior and dwelled with us. He knew it was impossible for us to keep the law for our salvation. So, He gave us a better way. He fulfilled, was crucified for our sins, died, and rose again to show us that we will live again if we have faith in His Word and believe in Him.

You see, He didn't just tell us it was so. He did a show and tell. Follow Him, walk in His paths every day, read His Word, and believe. It's that simple.

Sportsmen's Tip of the Day:

When fishing on a lake with a size limit, carry a wide rule or make one of your own with the limit marked out. Makes it easy to ensure you are keeping the law.
