What do y'all think, should we try to plant our own field(s) or create an SCDucks Dove Club and lease fields in the Upstate, Lowcountry and maybe Midlands.

I'd be interested in an upstate/midlands lease...
Lease

Lease...Somewhere in the Midlands area.

I think a field in the Laurens area and a field in the Santee area would be a good middle ground... but you never know what is available. I'm in a good dove club, but am willing to go on another one if the tariff isn't too high. The Dove Capital of SC is in Darlington, Sumter, Lee and those adjacent counties, but finding a place can be a challenge. And that's a haul for folks in the bottom corner of the state AND the upstate.
Trapper, are you going to join that club with me this year?

I've got a buddy in Allendale that has 'farmed' for a dove club for the past 10+ years and been very successful. I know he's gone through the trials and errors of what works and what doesn't. I know he'd share that if we wanted to go that route. It is a TON of work and time. It would be my guess that leasing would be cheaper and easier. Count me in regardless.

Swamp Rat - is that the club on John Deere road? If so, what is he charging this year? Was the second season any good?
i'm still offering up a field for next season if everyone will help pay for seed, fertilizer, and come help plant
CantCareSB,
Didn't you say your fields are in Hickory Tavern? That's Laurens County and would be a good location for one.

got one around gray court that we can use and then one just outside of simpsonville
CantCare, check PMs...
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....
Sounds good.
Do you own the fields yourself, if not are you sure they'll be issue free. We certainly don't want to get involved, spend time and money on a field and then the landowner balk on us for some reason.
Stranger things have happened. So I just want to be sure they are problem free.

CCSB have you resolved the issues with your neighbors, if this is the field beside your house.
