After this morning I wish I was staying here, but I have to pick up my motorhome in Jonesboro so we are gonna hunt Wed, Thurs. and Friday. We have a rice farm leased but may move around some.
It was a three dog night, and I ain't got but one dog, me and him both damn near froze.

Whatever I do, it will be close to town. I don't have a clue what I'm doing - Saturday will be the last hoorah of whatever it is.

    Duckcrazed,

I have some buddies making a last minute trip to AR this weekend (I may be on board if the bossman agrees). Have you heard some good reports? Some family hunted southern LA last weekend and it was okay, but not terrific...no mallards, but good numbers of pintail, green wing, gadwall (gray ducks) and some mottled ducks too.

I've heard some good ones...but I just talked to a buddy hunting NE area who didn't pull the trigger this AM...plenty of ducks there, just sitting on the refuges....

Some family just got back from Avery Island area of LA and shot a good number. The blue wings had moved on, but there were plenty of green wings to shoot at. I think every one got their bull pintail every day too as well as lots of gadwall and even a few mottled ducks.

My buddies will be in Grubbs, AR this weekend (without me). I will be interested to see how they do...

Drove out last night, northeast. Hunted a field, 2 guns in our blind, killed 2 sprigs, a gwt, a greenhead, and a speck. Going back out after breakfast, the farmer is saying the action is picking up in the fields around midday. Hope so.

Yes. Drylok and myself hunted with Joey Ben Friday and yesterday. Got our limit by 8:00 both mornings. Mostly GW Teal, also a few woodies, ring necks, and a couple of Pintails.

The buddies of mine that were in NE Arkansas (Grubbs) wore the ducks out. Limits of mallards and pintails in no time flat...damn.
