what size decoys do yall use in your spread? standard or oversized? can they be mixed in together? i had a couple nice decoys giving to me for my birthday and they arent the same size as the rest of my spread just wondering yalls opinion.

In my opinion it makes no difference. From what I understand ducks can't really differentiate between the sizes. They can however see bigger decoys from farther away. Makes little sense but I have read it dozens of times over the years and even confirmed it with a wildlife biologist.

I think the only advantage would be their visibility at long distance. All I use are the regular sized dekes. I have a dozen or so of magnum corks but I seldom use them anymore.
What Salty said about them not being able to distinguish size must be true. I've seen guys on TV hunting out of blind made to look like a goose decoy...big enough to seat 2 hunters. The geese didn't flare from the 'monster goose'. So they must not be able to tell it's size.

i use standard. oversize take up too much room and are pointless.
