She might have been born plain white trash

Fancy's first season has been fun so far. A few dove hunts, a quick marsh chicken hunt and then yesterday. It's been an adjustment focusing on her success rather than mine but it's worth it. We have a ways to go from where I want her to be but it's been awesome. She got to pick up a banded bird on her first duck hunt yesterday which was pretty neat.

Mighta been born just plain white trash
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands
That's a proud looking dog!
Fancy means business!
Lying on the couch in this crappy weather I thought I would update this thread. Hunting with a dog is rewarding and every now and then frustrating. It's more about her success than mine and I know where she is lacking is my fault and not hers. I've been really proud of her steadiness. She's been covered with birds and doesn't break. That was a big thing for me. She does get frustrated hunting with dogs that do. We fell a little short of our goal last year retrieve wise but are within reach this year. Regardless I'm happy as a clam to have a companion in the field with me.
How bout that wigeon

I'd think I'd quit hunting if I couldn't hunt with my dog.
