That’s a neat idea to take the dogs with you but I’m convinced I’d bounce my mutt out of that basket before we got where we were going. Glad to see I’m not the only one sporting a golf cart lid for a canopy.

You're not the only one
I have a drill press and just happened to have the right sized drill bit in my collection.
If you suck at welding, your grinding skills will flourish. Towards the end of the project, I finally got the welder adjusted right and was able to make better beads without pits and voids. My little welder isn't designed to be welding on 1/2" plate.
I make the big dog lay down while moving. They are both very skilled at riding on the back of the ATV and I don't slow down or dodge bumps when they do. It'll take a really big bump to bounce them out of of the tractor box. I'd probably be going with them.
The golf cart canopy really does work well. They are very rugged. It has saved my ass more than a few times while pushing over old snag trees when a big limb breaks off and tries to crush me. I did a lot of searching for factory made canopies before I made this one. They are damn expensive, usually made of aluminum or fiberglass and prone to bending or breaking.
I've put together a few late model stock cars in my time, as well as other hot rod projects with a little mig. My nephew is a professional welder and is very good with aluminum, too. But I've never seen welds like DropEm. That is a work of art!
Thanks for the compliment. Some 8” sch40 I’ve been working on. Sch40 on 8” is like sch80. Its thick.

After my hand goes numb from all the passes with tig, I’ll weld a few out with fluxcore.

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.
Wow, that is fine welding

Had some bad shots come back from other welders on a recent chemical plant shut down I worked, I was picked to fix them. Here is some shots I took for my records. With a couple of other randoms.
