Anyone have any experience with this tractor? Pros/cons? Kubota's in general?
To be used for bush hogging and front end loader work. It would be a 4x4.
Thanks in advance.

What turbo said. But itll be a good tractor.
3rd on HST
Damn good tractors
More fuel = more boost!!
I'd assume 80%+ of the time it'll be used for bush hogging. Sounds like I should rethink this. Stupid me, but I was thinking with the wife wanting to get involved the HST may be easier for her. My thought now is I should shouldn't think.
Honestly hydrostatic will be fine even bush hogging as long as you run your RPMs where they want you running it with the PTO engaged. Is it flatland or what? Hydrostats to me suck when you are moving heavy or pulling heavy consistently.
We run the MX5000 w/ a bucket and its a damn good tractor. Not hydro though. Use it for heavy clearing with the bush hog and running the tiller on food plots. 4 years of hard work and no major issues out of it.
Awendaw so relatively flat, meaning no hills. It is certainly not smooth riding. Going to have it (30 acres) burnt next January, this will be to maintain the underbrush after the burning takes care of the thick stuff. There is some pasture/grass roads but not much.
To be honest, besides a hydro lawn tractor, I've never driven a hydro tractor. A clutch is what I used long ago when I was cutting horse pastures on the family farm as a kid.
If you ever use it to break up the earth then you'll really see what I mean by pulling heavy and how much power you lose vs a geared tractor. Being me and all the tractors I grew up putting time on, I'll never own a hydro tractor If possible. But you using it to bushhog on flatland it will probably be a good tractor for years to come.
I would keep the wife off the machine
I have a Kubota L3301 HST and it does what I need on my 96 acres. It pulls a bush hog, tiller, and disc just fine. My land is flat and sandy. Bucket work is a breeze with the hydro too.
MX5700. No hydro but have run a smaller version with hydros. Wouldn't piss on it if it were on fire. The 57 is the smallest tractor anyone should purchase with any amount of land.
Makes my back hurt to think otherwise
Find an 75+hp with a left hand reverser. Buy once cry once
cut\'em
I went to wilsons in newberry to buy a mx5200. I ended up coming home with the mx5800 HST with the 4 in 1 bucket. I have absolutely loved it. I use mine for bush hogging, tilling, spraying, just about everything and I have yet to find anything it can't do. For what you are using it for you will be fine. If you do go shuttle shift with the loader just make sure to get real familiar or you will tear some stuff up.
I wanted to buy the 55hp kioti hst but it only had 38 hp to the pto. The mx5800 has like 62 hp but still has close to 50hp to the pto.
Also, I'm not sure where you are located but if you are within 3 hours from newberry you owe it to yourself to call Wendell and get him to quote you a price. They beat everyone within 4 hours of me... by a lot
"They are who we thought they were"
You can dress a fat chick up, but you cant fix stupid
I'm running a 35hp with HST. I'm also using a 6ft. heavy duty bush hog behind it, which is a lot of mower for that hp. I've bushhogged some heavy duty shit and never had a problem. Like someone else said, find the right RPM's and let her run. I don't really understand why some people don't like them. Maybe they haven't figured out how to use HST. Oh yeah, I also pull a six foot chisel plow as well. Go for it, especially if getting a loader!!
Btw, if you are thinking of getting a front end loader, bite the bullet and get a 4in1 bucket. You will be amazed at how much you can do versus a normal bucket. Matter of fact, I would never have a loader that didn't have 4in1 capabilities. It's night and day difference.

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
Missing you my great friend.
Repair bills on gear transmissions are a lot cheaper than HST.
