You are the Owner/GM of whatever NFL team gets first pick in the next draft. Who do you pick as your longterm franchise star to be?
Me? I pick Mike Williams and never look back.

As of right now, Myles Garrett (DE), from Texas A&M is projected to go to the Browns. If I was Cleveland, I would take a QB, whether it be Watson, Kizer, or Trubisky.
:FYT:
Dalvin cook
I am sure that there are special needs for whatever teams go first. I don't watch NFL and could not tell you who is good or who is bad, but I can tell you that the Cleveland Browns can pick every QB in the draft and they will still suck.
I guess my point is that #7 looks like a can't miss Hall of Famer assuming he stays healthy during his career.
Rueben Foster. And I'm a Clemson fan.
It was like there were two of him last night.
If I were owner/GM: I think Cook is a great player, but few RBs last long enough in the NFL to justify a #1 pick, longterm franchise star. I know defense wins championships, but offense sells tickets, so DL or LB is probably out. If we need OL, can trade down and probably get two guys. Leaves QB or WR as best options. If Williams turns into Calvin Johnson, a #1 pick would look brilliant.
Give me a nasty D and a nasty O-line and even I could hand the ball off and make 5-10 yard passes.
Quarterback shmorterback. Draft big fast nasty dudes with traps and tatts.
I'd trade the pick to some idiot that thinks Trubisky is good at football. Move back to 17 or so and pick 3 dudes with the picks I got. In the last two weeks I've seen 2 of the best college linebackers in person. Raekwon and Reuben.
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
They don't put Championship rings on smooth hands
williams reminds me of alshon jeffrey (and maybe sammy watkins a little bit). some people just have great control of their bodies and can flat catch a football.
BUT, if I was building a team, I would start with a defensive star.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
reuben is bama's #10? he was more disruptive than our #10 was.
I still would like to play with Boulware. He gives a shit. I like that.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.
Im no NFL guy, but NFL values each position and looks at longevity. first round money goes to pass rushers, pass protectors, pass catchers, pass defenders and pass throwers, in that order I think. QB's are a 2-3 year project usually so its hard to spend top 10 money on them.
Running backs are expendable commodities. Im not sure if Dalvin Cook will be first round. He SHOULD be, but unless someone either falls in love with him, there is no other more important position player on the board, or a team has a specific need at RB, he will sit.
Depending on who is in this draft class, I would assess my needs along the lines above. A dominate DE/pass rusher would be top of the list (which is why doo doo Clowney went first. Then a dominate OL especially Left Tackle. and so on. If i dont have a line, then having a QB is of no use. Why pay first round guaranteed money to a rookie QB that will be in traction.
The combine plays a huge roll in it too. This Trabisky kid from UNCheat supposedly will be high on everyone's radar after the combine. why? because he is high on measurables. He is tall, he has good velocity, he is tall.
A vote is like a rifle: its usefulness depends upon the character of the user.
