Unfortunately, if you read the SC firearms laws that's exactly what you have to do. Anything other than a console/glove compartment or CWP weapon can not be accessible from the front seat, etc.

I do not believe that applies to long guns

I hope you're right. Guess I need to check on that, unless someone here knows for sure and has a link to explain it.

    Thanks.

Nope, just think it's stupid to advertise what weapon you have in your truck on the www. Bunch of crack heads out there. Heck, several on here, too, after reading the legalize drugs thread.

Would be a better world if more people carried guns. I don't really care who knows.

I don't think there is a definite answer, the law seems to contradict itself when it comes to long guns.

The way I've always understood it is that if a long gun was in "open view", such as on a gun rack in the window, it was legal. But if the gun is concealed, it can't be within reach of an occupant.

This becomes a bigger issue for those who want to mount an AR Pistol under a seat, etc.

Yeah, there's a reason I seldom put pictures of my guns on here. Seldom, but I sometimes do it anyway. I got your point when you made it.
