By the way, I noticed you said you were going to use automotive polishing compound on your mantle. I tried the same (per one of the YouTube videos), and it made my finish duller. I used the same compound (Maguire's) and the same orbital sander/ lint free cloth combo the dude on the video had. Obviously your luck is better than mine, but just a heads up to try a small inconspicuous spot to make sure it's going to give you the best results. That mantle looks great, by the way. I hope my wife never sees it, she's already implying that once I get all my trial and error out of the way I should attempt some furniture refinishing around here.

Most don't know that Maguire's has a numbered professional line. It is not on the shelf with the waxes etc. It will be with the auto paint supplies.

Quick buff out. Now IF I can find my old paste wax. Once again my wife has reorganized something and my things are missing.
