I would guess more than one person touched the rod after hookup. Or a boundary dispute if they had their AIS transponder on and were seen somewhere outside of the allowed fishing grounds. But those are just guesses. If lawyers get involved I'm sure there will be a gag order just like in the big rock tourny a few years back.
