That sounds like a bad switch.

The relay won't trip until the switch is made on the pole the relay resides on.

If you've got two on and one off, no matter what position the switch is in, you've likely got a bad switch.

Pull the switch off and put a single pole switch in line with one relay... let us know what happens. Try it on each relay pole.

I'll have to see if I've got a single pole switch around or in the boat tool box and see what happens. But what's the difference between wiring in a single pole switch to each relay pole and connecting the relay poles directly to the lights? Of course, I'm thinking that the relay is wired BEFORE the current switch, correct? That's the only way that the two poles would be hot, isn't it?

What am I missing here?
