If you bought him from any of the well known dog trainers name him- Snipehead, Ratface, Greyhound Wannabe, Pencil Neck, Woodpecker, Shrew, Gar, Spikenose or Skeeterhead.

If you bought a real Labrador Retriever call him-Duck, Coal, Knight, a dog will find his own name anyway. You don't need a name on the way home from picking up a puppy. Give it some time and let his personality name him.

I would name him "Go-Devil". I have never owned a mudmotor, so I'm not biased. But I did own a beagle named Go-Devil and he was a world class rabbit dog.
I think the name would also fit a lab.

For females, I now have two that go by Maggie and Lillie.

But my next male lab's name is already chosen: Traveller, after noneother than Gen. Robert E. Lee's faithful war horse.

Hank, Stroker, Jack (Daniels) for a male

Belle, Sugar, Lady for a female

But like it has already been said let your dog earn their name. But Names are best that are one syllable or short two syllable that doesn't sound like: NO, Stay, Heal, Come, Fetch or any other popular commands.
