Murray strippers

Has anyone else read the new law on stripers in Murray, that started today? Was on another forum and they were talking about it. So I went to DNR site and read about it under new fishing regulations started on July 1 2012. From 6-1 to
9-30 they want you to keep first 5 fish and no size limit. So by law now you can't cull to try for bigger ones? I know every year you ride around the lake and see a bunch of floaters, so I guess they trying to cut back on that through the hot months. Just wondering if this is the way y'all read it also.

I was told it's the first 5 fish regardless during that time frame.

yeah that's how I read it also.
On Lake Murray and the middle reach of the Saluda River it is unlawful to possess more than five striped bass a day. From June first through September thirtieth, it is unlawful to take, attempt to take, or possess more than five striped bass a day.
(F) On Lake Murray and the middle reach of the Saluda River from October first through May thirty-first, it is unlawful to possess a striped bass less than twenty-one inches in total length. From June first to September thirtieth there is no minimum length.
