I thought a marlin was gonna be weighed in around 5?
not sure why mike kelly would have released a 113" fish. would have definitely been in the money.
could have won it all if it was 113" and "had a nice belly".
glad he didn't.
couldn't be happier for robert. he is one of the best fisherman on the water... about time lady luck came his way.

A 113" fish straight out of the water would not be 113" at the dock. The minimum length is 110". I wouldn't have risked it either.
:FYT:
I thought the same thing, until I watched the weighmaster measure the 1st DQ'd Blue Marlin. This was the third fish weighed in the tournament. It was 105"!!! obviously that team was banking on it's girth...
7. QUALIFYING BLUE MARLIN - To be eligible for prize money the Blue Marlin must weigh at least four hundred pounds OR measure at least one hundred and ten inches.

There was no third place fish, you grease the close ones!
Be an idiot not to, fuck tomorrow when a fish could be worth 100k+. Listened to another boat release one that by my estimates was 544 lbs. said it was 106. And were out of a center console. Why bother fishing if you don't have the nuts to throw it on the dock? Lots of money to "shoulda" in hindsight

113" fish?
Dead.
Right now.
Way too much bullshit speculation in here and at that fucking tournament.
there is no "risk" only reward. Federal minimum is 99". They didn't win anything for releasing it.
poor decision making and/or the fish wasn't actually 113".
