Calibogue and I are fixing to go try and bust a big black bird. A little nippy outside but thankfully the wind has let up.

We went to my place, 2th. Tracks everywhere, strut marks in the roads, turkey shit and feathers everywhere we walked. LOCK JAW.....didn't hear a damn thing and both of us have a busy day so we scrubbed it early. I haven't heard any reports yet from my boys so I'm sure they're still in the woods.

    And so it begins...

2 nice redheads and 4 sluts come out 150 away from me and went the other way. I hung out till 10:00 and the gobblers were content with the hens

What sucks is that I had birds gobbling everywhere this morning and decided to set up on the p-nut field birds. I've done seen them several times pre-season but around 11 or so. Oh well thats how it goes.

I'll try them Friday, hopefully two days of rain will have them horny as hell come sunny Friday morning

I could not go this morning, but 6 people were at my club. Each one was working birds and could not get a shot amongst the hens. Or so the story goes. One guy had a tom sneak up on him while he worked another bird. 9 feet is too close to try and turn on a bird. He did not get a shot off either.

    one bird gobbled 2 times

had a group of hens work into 50 yards and raise hell

not a shot fired near Bells Crossroads in the swamp.

plenty of evidence they are there

rain in the morning sets a perfect mood for a 7 am nap on the couch.

Well I know there is one man on here who missed yesterday, but I'll wait and let him share his story. I say just shitty shooting, but to him there was a reason.
