    Morning was uneventful. Took a walk around the club at 11:00 and saw a hen crossing a fire break. Setup and called a little facing the hen. As you already can figure the old boy came from the other side and was about 25 yards on my right shoulder when I saw him. Never said a word or even puffed up. I knew that I would not be able to turn on him but I couldn't help myself. As he eased by I began to turn. You guessed it, he saw movement and was gone in a second. Went to the club house and saw the others. They had killed six in the morning. I had lunch and at about 1:30 went out to the same area and set up. At 5:00 he came in to the calling and made a pass by the decoy at about 20 yards. He is ready for the fryer. 1" spurs, 9 1/2" beard and 14 lbs. Never goobled or looked like he was excited by the calling. He came right in both times but wasn't doing his thing yet.

    He obviously wasn't the dominant bird in the area, but a nice bird all the same! We all love for them to put on a show for us before we whack'em but sometimes it just doesn't happen!
