Finally got on the water and found a few but hopefully there will be more to come. Here are a few from Murray from last Thursday and today. There are some small ones and few tittie bream but it was fun.

Since there was a big debate over the size of that catfish here is one of the big ones with a ruler.

Here are some crappie from today. Went for about two hours this morning and quit early because I didn't fell like fighting the wind anymore.

You may be right, old salt. The redbreast-colored ones don't seem to have the skinny opercular flaps....or blue lines around the eyes....but it's kinda hard to tell from that pic. I caught some panfish the other day that looked like a bluegill/shellcraker hybrid. Never seen anything like them. I didn't know there was such a creature.

Yeah, they are the wrong shape more than anything. I do see one or two that might could pass from the picture. (3rd row from left; 3 down)

I've caught what I've thought to be hybrids before too. bream/warmouth/shellcracker It's all good.

    Sincerely,

    Old Salt

    Word of the day:

    o·per·cu·lum ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-pűrky-lm)
    n. pl. o·per·cu·la (-l) or o·per·cu·lums
A lid or flap covering an aperture, such as the gill cover in some fishes or the horny shell cover in snails or other mollusks.

Yeah LCS their opercular flaps/ears are the wrong shape.

I will forget this word in a couple of hours...

AND Snap, I apologize for not acknowledging your catch. That's a fine mess of fish.

You may be right LCS and Ghetto, the flaps do look too bulbous to be redbreast's, should be longer and narrower.
