Didn’t hear a single gobble, but a nosey squirrel and then footsteps in the leaves let know this old boy was sneaking in looking for love. Came from my 7:30 -8:00 and I thought he would never get to where I could shoot him. But he did. Dumped him at about 15 yards. No blinds, no dekes, just an old slate call a friend made me and a beat up 870. The older I get, the more I prefer to keep it simple, the simpler the better. 18 pounds, triple beards 6, 7 , and 10” long, 1 1/16” and 1 1/8” spurs.
