Default Securing boat during a hurricane

I have heard people say let it fill up with water to weight it down, I have read pull all plugs and secure as tight to trailer as possible. Anyone have any experience. My boat is a light poling skiff (17 Mitzi).

Due to some pretty unique circumstances (like my wife is 39+ weeks pregnant) if/when we get evacuated from SW Florida I am going to have to leave my boat behind if little one doesn't come first.

“We need the tonic of wildness...At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us...”
