    Default Need Help Getting Her to Come

    I can imagine many of you have this same issue but in this particular case I am referring to my pup.

    She knows sit, she knows heel, she knows stay - but here or come are ineffective. She will be walkin around in the yard and I say COME - she either moseys over or continues to chase leaves or just disregards me all together.

    If she has her check cord on, she comes running right to me, but every time I take it off, she does her own thing.

    Dont use here "OR" come...use one or the other...Make sure the dog knows the difference between heel and here, I use here to come back to my area and heel is about an inch and a quarter away from my left foot. If the check cord works and the dog does right you are gonna have to become crafty...or collar condition...Discipline at a distance....or a partner with a heeling stick, or a small piece of cord to see if it can discern the difference between the think in your hand or the thing on her neck. Maybe put the cord on a choker and snap it at "here". If that works, work to remove cord but leave chain, then work to remove chain...

    Try positive reinforcement if the here command with a sort tweets on the whistle with a treat upon her immediate return. Introduce this with the check cord and then without it. If she does not respond to this after a week shoot the bitch.
