Damn good stuff Daddy 2th!!
Taking your kids hunting is a form of bonding you won't find any other way! And it's making memories for you and them. Memories for you that will stand you in good stead when you are too old to get out there with them anymore (so says my dad)
Memories y'all can still share even when you aren't able to go with them.

And make sure to brag on them and listen close to all the hunting/outdoor stories and game they harvest when they are out alone and come home proud and wanting to tell the details. That means a lot to the little fellows. My parents, grandparents and the old black lady Aunt Nannie what helped raise me made a big deal out of all my outdoor exploits! You'd have thought I'd won gold in the Olympics everytime I brought a BB hammered bird home. As long as it wasn't a cardinal or a mockingbird (them would get you in deep trouble) it was a kill to be rejoiced over and eaten!

And you are dead right on in your rant!
