So it would appear that ethics and the law run parallel in this instance.

Pharm, it was a spectacular hunt. Sorry I hijacked your thread.

Curious. Fish, would you count the splashed bird that was never found, the bird that was handled and the flew off or both or neither?

FWIW, I would count the splashed bird, but NOT the flyer.

If a bird flew out of my boat, I would get all my shit and go home, i would look at my dog, and say "I am a BAD hunter, and you suck too"

Splashes count. hard to get em back to the landing though.

    too much coffee sorry.

Any bird that I splash and lose is counted. But I lose very few. My dog is pretty good.

That whole bird flying off thing is just fucked up. I'm not sure I've ever even heard of anything like that. As soon as I get them in hand, I bite their head and its over. But I will concede that its a remote possibility. And hell, if the sumbitch got out of my hand and he looked healthy, like gaining lots of altitude and fast healthy, I'm not sure what I'd do. That's a head scratcher.

If the game warden saw him fall, it doesn't matter what I think.
