    Default Paleo Questions

A couple questions for you paleo boys:

    1. How the hell do you pronounce it? Is it pay-leo? pa-lay-o? pay-lo?

    2. Where do you get your carbs from?

I've cut out all processed foods and sugars, and been trying to eat that way for about a week now, and damned if my blood sugar didn't drop yesterday. Got real lightheaded at work. I've never had any issues with my blood sugar. Not positive that was it, but kind of "blacked out" for a second while walking somewhere. I didn't fall, but definately was out of it for a few seconds. Had to sit down.

    Pay-Lee-Oh

You get "carbs" from fruits and vegetables.

By they way, i'm 27, 5'7, and 165. Too young to be having any issues with blood sugar. Ive been eating meats and vegetables. Haven't touched any potatoes, rice, or pasta. Just feel like I'm not getting enough carbs. I did have a diet soda this morning...

Not a diet, just cutting out sugars and processed foods, trying to eat healthier and feel better.

@ 5'7" and 165 if you don't feel good go to a doctor. I'm not talking shit but it ain't what you eating that's got you feeling bad. your metabolism is running like NASCAR at Daytona. You need to give it sugar and carbs. If not, you will feel worse.

I'm not interested in losing weight. I am either running or lifting weights everyday. I am eating a lot of protein as well, trying to put on some muscle weight. I've just been cutting out sugars, sodas, fried foods, things like that. I don't feel bad, just had that one episode yesterday afternoon. May need to go to the doctor. I've never experienced that feeling before, and just figured it to be from the changes i've made in diet. Most of my meals include a meat and 1 or 2 vegetables. Dinner last night was steak, green beans, and okra/tomatoes.

Eating the way you are now isn't going to put on weight. Lift more less reps.

And how's that workin? A diet for one is not a diet for another. I understand cutting out processed products, but cutting out other things may not work for you. The main thing to remember is "moderation". Eat carbs and sugars, just not for every meal every day. It will take some playing around with to dial in, but your body will let you know. As it just did.

You're on the right track with the cutting out processed shit and refined sugars and the high protein deal. You need to be at or above 1g of protein per pound of lean body mass and you need to get your carb intake above 150g in order to put on the weight you desire in the form of muscle. Fruit is gonna be your best bet for getting up there and more specifically, bananas.

Grilled or baked chicken and brown rice.

    Steak and sweet potatoes.

    Obviously plenty of veggies.

    Heavy weight 4-6 rep range.

70% of max till you can't do another and hold the last for 5 seconds is better.....if you wanna be truly strong, that is, and not just "queer buff".
