Or read the book 'The Floyd Collins Story' or saw the Billy Bob Thornton movie made about Floyd Collins.

For the pure, animalistic, scared-to-death adrenaline rush. Same reason I like jumping out of airplanes - it's a turn-on.

PS: there are some great caves in Murray, KY

I like tight places. The tighter the better. Just saying.

Not gonna knock what somebody does for their rush, cause Lord knows I have my fair share of adrenaline junky activities. But, I sure as hell am not going squeeze my way through "caves" that are smaller than I am, one way in/out, with someone behind me to block the path if they get stuck or freak out. The only cave I'm going into is one I can walk in and out of...

me,wife and grandson were going into a narrow dead end passage in Linville Caverns in North Carolina. i looked behind me( we're normal sized) and there was a couple of 350 pounders trying to squeeze their way past a very narrow spot.
i faked a panic attack and made them back up and let us out.
after the tour was over we went back and viewed that spot, the tour guide saw us coming out and laughed and gave me a thumbs up.

I've done it before, but I sure as hell wouldn't going in anything as small was what was pictured.

The one thing I HATE about being a firefighter is confined space rescue. It scares the shit out of me. When I did the class to get my confined space rescue it was all I could do to make it through that class. Heights don't bother me when Im on a rope. High Angle rescue was a fun class. But this confined space shit is for the birds.

I've done a lot of crazy stuff and enjoyed the hell out of it - but to my knowledge, the only thing I've ever been 700' below was the sky.
