I know I will get my ass climbed hard, but I'm still pissed that DU wanted a compromise. It was the beginning of the end, wait and see.

Theres more of a danger of someone getting hurt by a jet skiier or a boater than there is a duck hunter. Check out those statistics.

like that little bit of logic matters.

According to the lake invaders we NEED boats and jet skis just like we need cars... so no matter how many folks die by them THAT'S OK as long as we can outlaw hunting and evil guns- those are the really bad things in this world.

I wouldn't mind seeing Murray turned into a Wed. and Sat. only WMA.

Might be getting a CAT1 on Murray but it damn won't be in those 2 county's.
BOTTOM LINE> If you want to kill ducks go to where the ducks are. It ain't on Murray. Tooooooooooooo many wantabee's.

How about tell Chip that I "used" to have a lot of respect for him. That just went out the window with this stupid, unwarranted piece of shit bill. How about outlaw the damn jet ski's that about run over my ass while fishing. Now, that would be something of substance!

If this bill passes it will be the most dangerous piece of legislation to affect duck that I can remember. Get on it DuctTape and friggin quick!

Me either, if they actually manage it for waterfowl instead of making every effort to clear it of all vegetation and habitat for waterfowl. If not, then they are simply wanting to eliminate duck hunting(shooting guns) on the lake.

Common sense tells you no one is in danger of guns are peppering. The bill is worded to add the whole "guns" thing to make it more dramatic and hopefully pass on the guns being evil thing.

Like Squatty said...it is a slippery slope and it will happen elsewhere if not stopped here.

    dear mr elected official,
please give me the statistics that compare the numbers of deaths due to guns while duck hunting and the number of deaths by other boaters (including jet skis). hell, to make it fair, give me the duck hunting deaths during the entire duck season compared to deaths in July.

    thank you,
    concerned citizen

I'm sure I'll get jumped for my opinion on what happened concerning DU and Lake Murray - I bet there was a big sponsor that was gonna pull out and take others with them if DU didn't help push the "compromise" - I think the same thing has happened on Santee - money is killing DU again - little by little.

I hope this bill is permenantly d.o.a. I guess that's why politicians and diapers have so much in common...

Relationships DO matter so what can we do to POSITIVELY make a change to Lake Murray's currently pitiful waterfowl status.

Unfortunately the folks that have the stanglehold on these politicians are deep in their hip pockets AND live on Lake Murray. How can we slip a bill in to legislation that will benefit US and not the anti's? I like the idea of our OWN "Lake Murray Hunting Bill" but it has to be something written in OUR favor. I'm not politician, and don't have much use for them, but it seems some folks on here have some political savvy. Any serious ideas?

    EXAMPLES:
NO SUPPLEMENTAL SHORELINE FEEDING (AT ANYTIME)
WED. / SAT. ONLY? (RELIEVE EXCESSIVE HUNT PRESSURE)
    ESTABLISH MORE (ANY, SOME) HABITAT?
    ETC.
Listen to your elders. Not because they are always right but because they have more experiences of being wrong.
