I've got some room to play with on the tach. I still need 700rpm to reach the top of the recommended running range. I know I can come up higher on the transom than where I'm at and that will get me part way there. Just need to find the time to get it all done!

Put the kids to bed one night, tell the wife you'll make it up to her when you come to bed and slap a jack plate on there. You won't regret it.

I haven't put one on mine because I got lucky on where I happened to mount the break away plate. The highest mounting hole on the motor is perfect. No rooster tail, but she's on the hairy edge.

I could probably get a few more RPM's with a jackplate and another 1/2" northward, but she rides good like she is and I've been pretty happy with it.

It's not a whole lot of fun when you get too fast because all you do is wait on the people that you're with. Ride. Stop. Get a new beer. Wait. Repeat.

    Not I.

    I haven't seen an Xpress w/ a 90.

    Damn'd ole copy cats...

The 90 is the shiz. I passed a feller and his buddy on the Wateree a few weeks back who had run out of gas. I gave them what I could from a portable tank that was nearly empty and wished them luck. We played around down river for another hour or so before heading back in front of a storm.

Needless to say, we passed the same fellers again... no gas. I made "biggun" get up front and tied their boat off to the back of mine. I told the driver of their boat to drop the motor, hold on and steer. I put them both on top and headed up the river while outrunning my buddy with the 60hp Hammer jet.

He'll never live that one down.

    There's no substitute for horsepower.

A sixty with a jet is really just a 30.

He will laugh at you when have a busted up foot from trying to follow him up into the rocks. Bank it.

I have a hammer 40. Is a hammer a yamaha? It's on a SeaArk, and it rocks. I'm gonna call it a hammer if it isn't because that sounds cooler than shit.

He won't laugh at me for riding up in those rocks.

If I'm riding through those rocks it's in his Polar Craft w/ 60 jet.

He did, in fact, laugh at me the other day when I caught a rock on the way back up the river and fubar'd a $300 prop.

I call it payin' to play.

HS: Yes, hammer is Yamaha. And yes, it is cooler than shit.

Not a big fan of that stretch of the Wateree either.

I've seen a few hit the rocks at the pipeline after they built it back up. The last time I came through it was low enough that I just raised the prop up and drifted over it.
