Btw, I worked with a gal from Laurens a few years back that had 2 cougars as pets. A male and female, they had been declawed and lived in the house with her and her pet chihuahua. The dog was old and she said it ruled the roost. The cougars bowed down to it when it snapped or yapped at them.

    You people just don't listen.......

To late DUCKMAN. I belive I saw on the local news (NE GEORGIA)
sometime in the last couple of weeks a panther (cougar) was documented on a South Carolina barrier island. I can't remember exactly where I saw the report. Anyway you are correct about it being bad news for sportsman and property owners in general. I was born and raised in inland rural south Florida (not a yankee) and have seen what the crazed hippie environmental extremist do to public land access and property rights when a panther is using the area. Also In all the years I have hunted in Florida I have seen two of them and they are tan, same cat as a western cougar. Anyone who has seen a black cat that size saw sombody's escaped exotic pet.

DUCKCOMMANDER727, that is a jaguar. I'm not saying you didn't see it, but I am saying it was somebody's escaped pet. Kill it if you see it again before it mauls someones child.

To hear the members of this forum you would think that South Carolina is suddenly overrun with melanistic (very rare) jaguars. Amazing that none have been shot, run over, or photographed ain't it....

Maybe the black jaguars are eating all the ducks on public land...

i havent had a chance to read all the posts, so i hope im not reiterating someones elses eyewitness account, but i have seen a large cat in cordesville near the tracks on witherbee road. granted, it was probably 5 or 6 years ago, but a grown cat nonetheless. from the distance we were, it looked "black" but not sure it necessarily was. it was extremely dark in color though, and had to be 60 pounds or better...

reminder: i will read rest of post later and remove this if necessary

That is the story of the mountain lion. Everybody has seen them, but nobody has evidence. I have a buddy that is doing his senior independent study on mountain lions on the cumberland plateau. He is trying to get them on a game camera or some hair samples on a scratching post. If he gets any evidence I will post it. People have claimed seeing them up here as recently as a month ago.

After reading all these threads; I have come to one conclusion: Everyone needs to bow down to the great JAB!He knows all, sees all;and is much more intelligent than anyone posting here.Basically, everyone who has claimed to have seen a big cat is a @uckin' liar or is drunk; high; or an ignoramus.Jab,would I be able to enter the kingdom of heaven based on my short 34 years of life(per your verdict) of course?
