Bible Study Verse:

Romans 11:34

For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor? (ESV)

Thoughts:

I had an encounter with the strangest of creatures. The Erethizon Dorsatum or common porcupine. I ran into this fellow on a recent camping trip. It had been awhile since I'd seen a porcupine. I was reminded that this is a bizarre creature. A creature that moves slowly and fearlessly with the help several thousand quills as its armor.

How odd the porcupine? Yet, God in His wisdom has His reasons for this creature. A simple yet profound reminder that we are not God's counselor. (Matt F)

Action Point:

The creative Hand of God is one example of His sovereignty. There's a great line from a song that says, "I'm not following a God I can lead around." Indeed.

The God of the Bible can create porcupines and calls sinful men to Himself, according to His good pleasure.

Rest today in the God who runs all things in the universe according to His infinite wisdom.

Sportsmen's Tip of the Day:

No one wants to face the business end of a porcupine's defense system, its quills. However it is not true that a porcupine can throw its quills.
