    Default Web Browser

    For all you tech gurus-
I've been using Flock for the past few years and have been pretty satisfied, but I had a popup come up a couple days ago from Flock saying that support will be discontinued on April 26. I did a little more digging and apparently Flock is no more, so it looks like I'm getting a new browser. I'm looking at either Firefox or the Google Chrome. I've had IE in the past and was not a big fan of it, seemed to crash a lot. Firefox is similar to Flock, right? I'm kind of leaning towards that, but just wanted some knowledge first.

Always used Firefox but recently switched to Google Chrome. Google is alright but I may be switching back to Firefox in the near future.

Flock is a modified FireFox. If you like flock, go with firefox.

I've always been a Firefox guy, but I tried Chrome about 6 months ago and haven't looked back yet. The speed and tab handling makes chrome the better browser imo.

I use Firefox at work and Chrome at home and have no real issue with or preference for either.

The newest version of Firefox has default settings that do not ask you if you want to save and restore all the open tabs. It can be modified but I don't understand why they changed the default.

I use Firefox 4 now and while it's taken some getting used to over FF 3.6, I'm sticking with it. I don't like Chrome... or maybe I just don't trust Google, not sure.

I've tried Ubuntu (Linux) and decided I didn't care to have to learn a whole new "undocumented" system that has a gazillion versions to it.

Firefox. I went to Firefox several years ago because I kept getting all kind of crap I didn't want using IE. Even got my browser hijacked a couple of times. I was having to run scans every week and the always found a bunch of junk I'd picked up. Since I switched to Firefox I haven't had a single issue. Running Firefox 4 now. I thought about trying Chrome, but there's really no need cause I'm satisfied with Firefox. If it ain't broke there ain't no need to fix it.

Firefox and I had a falling out last summer. Switched to Chrome and have never looked back. I would never even consider going back to internet exploder. Ever.

You realize ubuntu isn't a web browser, right? It uses firefox by default.

It's hard to completely abandon IE. Every so often, I run across a website that won't work in FF or Chrome and have to use IE. Even though FF is more standards compliant than the others, most web page coders test their sites against IE and may leave it buggy for any other browser. Government sites are some of the worst.

Yes, I do. It's just that there's always someone in the crowd anymore who tolls the virtue of Linux systems and its related browser versions, so I threw out the caution flag so another 'sucker' doesn't get punched.
