Squat, he didn't say. He posted it today and he's offline right now. This is exactly what he posted along with the pics:

been told by the experts. thought it was neat. see what everyone else thought. came from 100 yds south of pops black duck.
"Pop's black duck" refers to where his dad killed a black duck this year.

I swear I didn't think it would be this hard for y'all duckologists. I've killed a lot of ducks but I never got into the details of ID like y'all.

I know that this isn't true in all species(i.e. Mules), but maybe in ducks. I don't believe that it is though.

You using the width of the boards being 4" on that dock/pier to gauge it?

If they are 12" boards it's a goose.

You know, just for Tater's sake, if his measurements are correct...a GWT speculum looks a tad like that one's...just to throw something else out there(black bill too).

Those are finished edges so they're 3 1/2"

Ok so the consensus so far is 'part 'Pintail and a hen'?

    Thats for certain.

    But what?

Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.
