The hail call, greeting call, comeback call, feeding call, and even the cajun squeal can be easily made with the Perfect Timber duck calls. Big Lake is a place located in South Carolina’s renowned Santee swamp off the Wateree River that is both enchanting and mythical. It was here that a little boy was introduced to hunting and fishing by first his father and then his grandfather when the father passed away. By continuing an outdoor legacy, both the grandfather and his 7 yr old grandson comforted each other over this grievous loss as they trekked on foot and by boat in the grand waterways and magnificent cypress sloughs of Big Lake catching fish and hunting duck, deer, squirrel, and hogs. Those precious childhood memories that I still cherish today led me to name the company after the endeared Big Lake. “Let’s head to the Lake” has so much meaning to so many people with their fathers and sons, daughters, and grandchildren, and I hope these premium products will be able to do their part in providing many more such memories in the future to everyone that uses them.

Now that they are a sponsor, I can say that I know the call maker very well and hunted with two of their calls last year. They are great calls, and Big Hugh put a lot of work into developing a great product. They are a great family, and will help you with your purchase and stand behind their work. My only complaint is that it seems like after calling in the first green head ever killed with one, I would at least get a pic on the website.
