I get my puddin from a fellar in Holly Hill. Best dadgum puddin you ever tasted. Now, if I run out, Harvin's puddin is the best in the grocery store. Puddin and grits, and cathead biscuits. MMMMM

That'd be Holly Hill Locker Co. Best Old style sausage and puddin around - Great with grits.
I grew up on Mater pies, its hard to beat traditional farm style southern cooking. I hope we are able to keep it alive for generations to come.

Puddin' goes on the side with 'mater pie and grit, keep it all seperate, I add some diced onion and peppers to my 'mater pie, use monterey jack cheese most of the time and DUKES mayo

Grit Casserole - good hunt camp food, will go in seperate thread (deservedly so)

meat does not go in a 'mater pie, if it does then it becomes a "meat pie"

The fella in Holly Hill has the best non-homemade puddin' around, period. But it is not my homemade 'puddin. I had a thread awhile back, anybody that wanted the recipe just had to give me their email and I sent it to them - this recipe can be traced back at least 100 yrs

A mater pie should be simple. It's the same as 2th's, but I make my crust.

The layers. I think I'm dead to Fish because I can't put meat in my pies.

Also some cucumbers with vinegar, a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper, and a small pinch of sugar. Garden Eats.

Mr. Highstrung, have you got the dough hooks & such for that mixer? I've been lusting after one of those mixers for ages - just in case someone has a woman that doesn't cook & wants to get rid of kitchen gadgets.
