Default 58 lbs Flathead Cat shot bow fishing

My son Brandon Burke and his friend Thomas Singleton shot 9 cats last night with this one being the prize that Brandon stuck 49 inches long 58 lbs flathead. A good night for bowfishing!!

    Good deal!!!
My thoughts exactly JAB. I figure, i'll never retire, always work doing something. Rather have boats, guns now and be able to use em than to save and save and then be too out of health to enjoy it.

That is a monster flathead. DNR does not keep a record for cats stuck with the arrow, just carp, gar, & bowfin. If the record was kept for flatheads, this fish would not have broke it. The record rod & reel flathead is about 80#

nice fish... they did better than us last night.... we did get a 35 flathead tho.....

    that fish shot on santee?

tell them boys to come shoot some tournaments with us...

thats a damn big cat, one that will be hard to beat for a while, and a few pounds bigger than my personal best...but i know of an 87lber shot a few years back on the lower lake....and there are several 65+ pounders shot every year. so even if dnr did keep records of catfish shot by bow, it wouldnt come close.....

    congrats to your son!!!!

If they have fished them around here they probably already know me.... Ive been at almost every tournament on santee or the cooper river this year.... The name brandon burke sounds real familiar.... But im not good with names...

Next tournament we have will be a really big one... Boats from all over south carolina, north carolina georgia, and a few farther...

Hills landing on the diversion canal.... August 14th.... Tell them to holler if they want more details. I can send them a flier.
