The Barrett Model 98B Has Been Selected As The 2010 American Rifleman Rifle Of The Year

► Readily perceived as a value to the purchaser
► Styled in a manner befitting the shooting and hunting industry and, perhaps more importantly, its enthusiasts

Barrett will be presented with the Golden Bullseye Award for 2010’s Rifle of the Year at the 2010 NRA Annual Meeting and Exhibits in Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition to the trophy, the Barrett Model 98B will be featured in an editorial overview of the Golden Bullseye Awards in the May issue of American Rifleman and American Hunter® and the June issue of Shooting Illustrated.

Swamp- Savage's rifle is on the cover of this months American Rifleman. At just less than $2300.00, I'm not sure about the "Affordable" part though- at least not on my budget. Interesting rifle though.

Yeah - the "affordable" was why I put that in quotes. I'd love to have one. But the juice ain't worth the squeeze.

My former co-worker that bought a Sako SPORTER WEIGHT 338 Lapua probably wants to sell his.

I think it was a painful purchase for him. A 9 pound, non-braked, Lapua.
