while backing my boat into the frozen water this morning, I had to pull up and get out to see where my trailer was going (no ramp just a put in spot) I noticed where the water is sucked into the side of the foot,the plastic guards were broken inward. I could not find all the small pieces so I'm thinking they may have been pushed in by the ice. Needless to say I didn't run my motor for fear of those plastic pieces being sucked up into the impeller and maybe causing damage. Here is my question- if I get out what I can find and dig for and if I don't get it all do you think I'll screw my motor up if I run it?

yes they were.

if I'm not mistaken i don't think it will hurt to run, but i would replace.
if it would have been me this am i would check good and then run.
