That's funny 2th. I almost hit one with a football at practice yesterday. No we have a pond at the farm that is almost dry, and there a lot of doves using it.

I though t it was illegal on the Congaree...I saw a couple years back a fellow and his son shooting birds that crossed the river going into the Manning's place off the river.

I used to shoot them in the Cooper and Ashley River. It's a blast.

The Cooper River shooting was ruined when they developed Daniels Island. Use to shot across from the old Navy base when there was doves.

Do you have to use non-toxic shot when hunting over water?

Nope, no need for nontoxic for doves or marsh hens.

That's one thing that don't sit right with me about the regs. On Saturday morning I'll have to shoot non-toxic for geese over this hay pasture, that evening we'll shoot the hell out of the doves with lead. If your field hunting geese you should be able to shoot lead.

That field over by Heathwood is family-owned, but I think they lease it to a dove club. I have been a guest at a few shoots and it was fantastic.

I've been tailgating before a few Carolina football games and heard the shooting on that field. I remember the wife looking at me one day and asking what that shooting was about... my comment was...
