#6 out of 25 for my first match aint bad is it????

If I hadn't had a couple of brain farts on stage 1 and 5, I'd done alot better. Dropped a mag on a tac-load, and was too careful on the other. I learned to quit trying for all 0's, it eats up time.

don't have a site that list all of them together.....just went to IDPA's site here http://www.idpa.com/clubs.asp and looked at the sites for the clubs in the area....they all have schedules on their sites.....if it weren't for bristol this weekend, i'd check out the charlotte match....rock hill has a 'fun shoot' during any month that has 5 saturdays, so i'll probably shoot it on the 29th

unless you're really trying to shoot as much as you can, i wouldn't rec the rock hill/edgemoore location....it's an ok set up, but not as nice as g'villes and i've heard that spart is better.....they can only set up 3 stages at a time, then takes 45 mins to set up 3 more

It is a "BUG" match not a normal match.(Back Up Gun) Make sure you take the right gun. i imagine it will be a lot of point and shoot and no targets past 7 yards. should be fun.

There should not be any drawing from holster, so you may want to practice picking the gun up off a table.(im sure a few stages will start this way)

This past weekend was my first, but I can tell you what I figured out.

Don't try to be perfect on scoring. Get your hits, and move on.

Where possible do a slide-lock reload, that way you don't have to retain the mag.

Watch the experienced shooters you can pick up a lot of pointers.

dick, its a fine line as far as accuracy. i had 4-5 misses that cost me 2 places this past weekend. i was going a little to fast. Ideally you want your Points Down to be 10-15% of your raw time.

Sptbg. aint the fanciest, but we do have 5 bays.

The wife is wanting to try it now. She wants to go practice Saturday, so I guess I won't be going to a match.

10-4, I only had (1)-5 (total brain fart) and (2)-1. I think I could have picked up some time if I had not been trying for all 0's. Not bad for an old Beretta 92F.

You're right, you have to find that sweet spot in between time and accuracy. Like a experienced shooter told me "you still can't miss enough to win".
