God,
I wish we had a video link to your webcam so we could all watch you rehearse your responses outloud to see which one sounds best.
I do a bunch or reloading. my reloading scale (that I use to weigh powder, bullets and shot) has 2 options for units of measure- grains or grams.
I have never gotten a straight answer about "max drams" on a load. It goes back to the days when high brass actually had a purpose.
by the bucket.
Grains is the commonly accepted means of describing the powder charge AND bullet weight in US cartridges (Europeans use grams). there are 7000 grains in a pound.
DRAMS is the commonly accepted means of describing powder charge (only) in shotgun shells. It's actually "Dram Equivalent", which describes the powder charge against the EQUIVALENT of X number of drams of BLACK POWDER.... More of a performance measurement than anything. They (ammunition manufacturers) had to come up with a means of explaining to folks what they were getting when they started using smokeless powder instead of black powder. It IS a unit of measure, but not for use in reloading. You can get "X" dram equivalent performance from many different charges of assorted smokeless powders.
1 dram = 27.343 75 grain
1 grain = 0.064 798 91 gram

Drams are for black powder ONLY. It is from the old apothecary measuring system.
Smokeless powder is measured in grains

Common sense is not a gift. It's a punishment because you have to deal with everyone else who doesn't have it.
Nobody uses Drams. What a stupid question! This is not the 19th century.
If it ain\'t accurate at long distance, then the fact that it is flat shooting is meaningless.
since i shoot a cannon i measure in pounds

It's not enough to simply tolerate the 2nd Amendment as an antiquated inconvenience. Caring for the 2nd Amendment means fighting to restore long lost rights.
A little trivia.....one grain is roughly the weight of one grain of wheat. That's how the unit was originally derived.
Drams of powder are used in shotshells. Or at least I have seen it on dove loads on the box it tells how many drams of powder.
Rifle powder is def. grains.
Projectiles are also measured in grains.
