    Default 4-11-09 Peanut Striper

The bigger ones weren't there - weather most likely... or the water has gotten just warm enough to push em out.

Not much of a fight, but fun on de' Clouser and an OLD Shakespeare fly rod under the light.

    P-nut feesh.

Fish #2 - a fat little white perch that nailed a small jig when I transitioned to crappie huntin'. The dog looks like he wants a chunk o' fish fo' dinner.

Who can tell me where that rod was made? (Trivia question)

I'm going out this weekend to look for a couple. Haven't tried for one on the fly, my kids would kill me if I didn't fill up the bait tank.

I'm gonna check em again in a night or so... maybe the bigger ones are back. That light has been known to hold 8-10 pound fish, which would be sporty on a 6 weight.

The fly rod I sho' nuff think is an old Wonderrod.

The ultralight spinning rig (fiberglass) was made wayyyy back at Barron's - custom with the wood or bamboo handle. It was my Dad's favorite, originally outfitted with an Alcedo Micron reel (which I still have also).
