    Default Millet Differences?

What are the differences in Jap millet and Brown Top millet?

Is Jap millet for planting on moist soil and can't you just broadcast it?

What about brown top, will it grow in wet areas like Jap?

Jap and browntop are both good duck foods and both can be broadcast on moist soil. Jap will tolerate some standing water while growing whereas browntop doesn't do well in water.

If you grow a crop of either one, the wood ducks will go through it like a combine as soon as it is flooded!

Jap has a tight cone of seeds on top of a central stalk and is somewhat weather resistant. Browntop is much more like a grass with a spray of seed on many stalks and will mold or rot in a big hurry if it gets knocked or cut down.
