Please see attached Historic Ricefields Association’s most recent YouTube presentation on SCDNR’s mismanagement of many Cat 1 WMA’s. It is hard to fathom, after thirteen years of these Cat 1 waterfowl properties collapsing, the SCDNR Board or the General Assembly will not make the hard decision to force change. You are getting a glimpse of how state government operates. It does not.
HRA can only be the messenger. There are or were 25,000 duck hunters in South Carolina. Because of SCDNR not providing quality habitat on many Cat 1 properties this number is declining. HRA is not focused on the chosen few who are lucky enough to be drawn to hunt SCR once every four years. HRA is concerned about you,the public hunter hunting the many creeks and rivers throughout the state.
Please stop for one minute and e-mail the General Assembly expressing your dissatisfaction with DNR’s performance. This situation will only change if you take action.
