    Default Weekend Knife Fun

I love watching Forged In Fire. So for Christmas I told my wife I wanted a knife making class. Found a guy in Rutherfordton NC and booked it. I had a blast! It definitely puts it into perspective the 3-5 hour time limit they have on the TV show.

I took the 2 day Damascus class. I highly recommend it!

    That’s sharp! No pun intended.

So you put work into that knife? That's pretty badass. It's a good skill to have.

My brother is a knife maker. Actually farrier by trade, all handmade, forged shoes, but 25 years of that takes it's toll on the body. Just got a power hammer in his shop last week. Im sure he's trying take a career turn from shoeing horses.

I built a coal forge a few years ago and he got me two barrels of coke(good coal). I have yet to fire it up. Maybe this next winter....

    Very nice. Damascus is classy!

That’s awesome. I did that with my boys a couple years back. Just made a simple blacksmith knife but it was a good time and we learned a lot.
