All I use mine for is crappie fishing. Right now it's casting to roaming fish in open water. In the summer it's casting to fish on brush. I have seen brush on lakes with hundreds and hundreds of crappies on it. Normally you can catch 3, 4,or 5, and the bite just shuts down on that brush. I watched a podcast with a wildlife biologist a couple weeks ago talking about crappies. The average black crappie hen will lay between 50,000 to 180,000 eggs each spring. The average survival rate is right at 50 percent. He was not worried at all about overfishing any body of water with black crappies. They are more concerned with over crowded waters since they are such prolific breeders. He did not expect FFS to have any impact on crappie populations.
