    Default Towing a 1996 z71?

Can you tow a 1996 z71 with a tow dolly without damaging transmission if...
Put manual transfer case in neutral
    Put transmission in neutral
Getting different answers so not sure if I need to disconnect rear drive shaft.
It will be towed front wheels up.

Just to be safe pop the driveshaft out. That will eliminate all worry or possibly of transfer case jumping back into gear when you hit a bump.

Pull it up on the dolly, latch it down, put in neutral, put transfer case in neutral, and tow it across the country if you want. Half of what you’ve read is probably coming from people who don’t know a damn thing about vehicles more less the concept of how a drivetrain works.

    Across the country maybe ok.
Up thru the country, not everywhere.
Some turnpikes/Hwys don't allow dolly or require driveshaft disconnected.
(haven't keep up on latest but years ago we got introduced to some folks enforcing such nonsense)
