    Default Depth/Fishfinder - Freshwater

Looking to add something to the boat to locate brush piles and find crappie. Don't need gps. Just going on a boat with a trolling motor. I don't want to spend a bunch of money but like the bigger screens. Any good clearance deals out there?

Thoughts on the below? These are what I am considering but are higher than I really want to spend. Screen size and half off got me interested.

Hook is the low end model, but Cmaps are the best maps for SC. My buddy uses one to fish for crappie and he catches them. The downscan sidescan, and sonar will do what you want.

Check out Sportsman guide. They have some deals and close out. Got a Lowrance HDS for about 40 % off bps and free freight.

For the money get one with GPS. you can’t remember where all the brush piles are. That way you have an icon to drive too and can mark new stuff you find. Get downscan. You can see if fish are on the brush pile.

You need someone to bring a Lowrance with Genius Live mapping. They could map your whole pond in 30 minutes and make you a map card that can be used in the cheaper depth finders.

Save your 200 and get out your pad and pencil. I’ll come fish your pond and show you where the fish are.

I would be careful with Garmins. It must take 4 to get the job done.
