Case Spotlight:
After a very lengthy process and devotion to this case by Region 2 & 3 officers, a suspect pleaded guilty to the following in General Sessions court this past week: Hunting Under Suspension, Trespassing to Hunt 2nd offense (Richland County), and Night Hunting (Lexington County).

The suspect also pleaded guilty to the following on magistrate level: Obtaining a License by Fraud & Intentional Trespassing to Hunt (Richland County), Cutting/Removing/Destroying Timber, and Borrowing Deer Tag (Kershaw County).

The judge sentenced him to two years in corrections suspended to three years of probation. This offender will not be able to possess any firearms, and with the hunting under suspension charge, he will be suspended from hunting for three years. In addition, the judge ordered his vehicle to be forfeited or for him to pay fair market value before it can be returned.

The following items were also forfeited in this case: two deer mounts, two deer antlers, two shotguns, shotgun shells, a deer climber stand, and other items used while hunting illegally.

3 years probation = permission to hunt again. Outlawing is a drug and the addicted will kill again.
