    Default Snows

I love to hate these field hopping, hard to pattern rats. Still waiting on that first 50+ bird hunt of the spring, but this will do for now. Beats sitting at home, that’s for sure !IMG_4838.jpg

Looks like mostly Ross's geese to me...good work either way, though

Fair point, you’re not supposed to call them that anymore though it’s offensive ….

“The American Ornithological Society (AOS), the organization of bird scientists that determines the official English and Latin names for North America’s bird species, announced this week that they are embarking on a process to change the English names of the approximately 152 North American birds and 111 South American birds named after people.

Birds with eponymous names can be found in every section of a field guide, from the Bullock’s Oriole to the Ross’s Goose and Wilson’s Plover.”

It’s equal parts of love and hate.

Hate em because they’re hard to pattern, love em because when they decide to do it, they do it right.
